The tutor.
I'm Lora and I’m a qualified primary teacher with over 10 years experience in the primary classroom and at a strategic level in school improvement. I have been offering primary tutoring since 2021 and love giving children a little bit of extra confidence or support to ensure they can reach their potential. Learning should be fun and after being in school all day, many children switch off and find it difficult to concentrate on school work at home. Family lives are busy and one tutoring session a week can often be all the difference a child needs to make strides in their learning. It's a pleasure and privilege to support children and their families in this way.

The Lessons.
Tutoring lessons with Lora are completely bespoke. There will be a mix of technology, practical games, as well as traditional pen and paper methods. Learning is tailored to the child's interests and skills for maximum fun and engagement. Building confidence in themselves and their abilities is key to all tasks so that children begin to tackle challenges. School targets and homework can be tailored into lessons including parental support. The aim is to build independence and motivation so that learning will continue outside of tutoring lessons.
The Feedback.
Amy, Mum
“My daughter is enjoying her sessions and is most certainly having an effect on her confidence especially about her transition to Year 7. I was concerned that after school she wouldn’t be in the right mind to concentrate but she is always keen to attend.”
Sarah, Mum
“My son looks forward to the sessions and his confidence has come on leaps and bounds. We both feel this has been reflected in capabilities in his day to day schooling. I have been impressed with his improvements to date, definitely a worthwhile investment.”

Carl, Dad
“My daughter has improved so much since attending sessions. She is more confident and has even got her ‘pen licence’ as her handwriting has improved so much. She loves going and has not once moaned about it so she must be having fun!”

“My son loves his sessions and is always very upbeat and happy afterwards. I love seeing his excited face coming out to tell me all the new things he has learnt. Lora has been amazing at tutoring him but also helping him with positivity. He can't wait to get back for another term ”

Is the first lesson free?
Yes! First lessons are always free to parents so you can get to know me and I you to make sure it's a good fit. Lora's tutoring isn't suitable to everyone and so a trial is always a good way to test. How do I pay? Can I pay per lesson?
You will be invoiced for pre payment of a block of 6 lessons (+1 free initial lesson) to confirm your tutoring booking via email after and inital parent meeting and availability is confirmed by Lora's Tutoring. Pay per lesson is currently not accepted.
Will you come to my house to tutor my child? Where does tutoring take place?
Unfortunately we do not do home visit tutoring any longer. Tutoring will take place in Lora's private home in Pencoed. Parents drop off and pick up at the end of the session.
